188: 

ஐவர்க்கு ஒருசெய் விளைந்து கிடந்தது

ஐவரும் அச்செய்யைக் காத்து வருவர்கள்

ஐவர்க்கு நாயகன் ஓலை வருதலால்

ஐவரும் அச்செய்யைக் காவல் விட்டாரே.

உடையான் ஒருவனால் ஐவர் உழவர்க்கு ஒரு நிலம் விளைவு செய்ய விடப்பட்டது. அவ் ஐவரும் அதனை நன்றாகவே பேணி வந்தமையால், அந்நிலமும் நன்றாகவே விளைவைக் கொடுத் தது. ஆயினும், உடையான் அந்நிலத்தை மாற்றக் கருதி அவர்களை விலகுமாறு ஓலை விடுத்தமையால், அவ் ஐவரும் அந்நிலத்தைக் கைவிட்டனர்.

aivarum acceyyaik kāvalviṭ ṭārē. 

Meaning-[When Death's Summons Come, the Five Senses Desert the Body]

One field lay ready and ripe for the Five senses to work,

The Five, that one field watched and tilled;

But when the grim summons came from the Lord of the Five,

All the Five for ever fled and quitted the field.

தழைக்கின்ற செந்தளிர்த் தண்மலர்க் கொம்பில்

இழைக்கின்றது எல்லாம் இறக்கின்ற கண்டும்

பிழைப்பின்றி எம்பெரு மானடி ஏத்தார்

அழைக்கின்ற போதுஅறி யாரவர் தாமே.

தண்ணிய பூங்கொம்பில் தளிர், தழை, பூ முதலாக அதனால் தோற்றுவிக்கப்படுகின்ற பலவும் அங்ஙனம் தோற்றுவிக்கப் பட்டவாறே நில்லாது உருமாறி அழிகின்றதைக் கண்டும் அறிவில்லா தவர், ஆசிரியர் உண்மையைச் செவியறிவுறுத்துச் சிவபெருமானது திருவடியை அடைய அழைக்கின்ற பொழுதே அவரது சொற்கடவாது அதனையடைதற்கு முயலாது, `பின்பு முயல்வோம்` என்று புறக்கணித் திருப்பர்.

Meaning-[The Bud Blossoms and Fades; So is Human Life]

They see the sprouting wanton buds on tender twigs
They see how soon they flash their beauty and die;
Yet they seek not the Holy Feet;
Alas they know not when the sure call comes from High.

எய்திய நாளில் இளமை கழியாமை

எய்திய நாளில் இசையினால் ஏத்துமின்

எய்திய நாளில் எறிவ து அறியாமல்

எய்திய நாளில் இருந்துகண் டேனே.

மக்களுக்கென்று பொருந்திய நூற்றியாண்டின் எல்லைக்கு இடையே கூற்றுவன் வந்து அதனை அறுத்துச் செல்லுதலைப் பலர் அறியாது வாழ்ந்து, அக்கூற்றுவன் வந்தபொழுது துயருற்றமையை நான் எனது வாழ்நாளில் பன்முறை கண்டிருக் கின்றேன்; ஆதலால், வாழ்தல் பொருந்திய நாளில் இளமை நீங்கும் முன்பே அது பொருந்தி நிற்கின்ற நாட்களில் சிவபெருமானைப் பண்ணினால் பாடித் துதியுங்கள்.

Meaning-[Before Youth Passes, Praise Him in Songs]

In songs of praise to the Lord, pour out your heart;
In the days to me assigned, wasting not the minutes away,
In the days to me assigned, I, seeing all, remained apart.
