193:

துடுப்பிடைம் பானைக்கும் ஒன்றே அரிசி

அடுப்பிடு மூன்றிற்கும் அஞ்செரி கொள்ளி

அடுத்தெரி யாமற் கொடுமின் அரிசி

விடுத்தன நாள்களும் மேற்சென் றனவே.

பொழிப்புரை

ஓர் அகப்பையே இடப்பட்ட ஐந்து பானைகள் அடுக்காய் உள்ளன. அவை அனைத்திலும் இட்டு அடப்படுகின்ற அரிசி ஒன்றே உள்ளது. அப்பானைகளை ஏற்றிவைக்கின்ற அடுப்புகள் மூன்று உள. அம்மூன்று அடுப்பிலும் மாட்டி எரிக்கின்ற விறகுகள் ஐந்து உள்ளன. இதனால் அவ்வரிசி நன்முறையில் அடப்படுமோ! படாது. அதனால், அவைகளில் வைத்து அவ்வரிசியை அட நினையாமல், நல்ல அட்டில் தொழிலாளனிடம் கொடுங்கள்; கொடுத்தால் நன்கு அட்டு உண்ணலாம். முன்சொன்ன வகையில் அரிசியை அடலாம் என்று நினைத்துக் கழித்த நாள்களும் பலவாய் முன்னே போய்விட்டன. இனியேனும் அவனிடம் அவ்வரிசியை விரையக் கொடுங்கள்.

Meaning-[Give in Charity Now and Here]

Same the rice of life that in all body-pots boil;
The Five are the fuel that feeds and kindles the burning Three,
Gifts of rice in charity give, lest birth flame anew,
The days missed of such deeds are for ever lost to Thee.

மாறு திருத்தி வரம்பிட்ட பட்டிகை

பீறும் அதனைப் பெரிதுணர்ந் தாரிலை

கூறும் கருமயிர் வெண்மயி ராவதும்

ஈறும் பிறப்புமொ ராண்டெனும் நீரே.

பாவும், உண்டையுமாக மாறிக் கூடும் இழைகளை நன்கு செப்பம் செய்து ஆக்கி விலைவரம்பு செய்கின்ற பட்டாடைகள் என்றும் அவ்வாறே இருப்பதில்லை: என்றாயினும் நைந்து கிழிவதை அனைவரும் காண்கின்றனர். அதுவன்றியும் குறிக்கப்படுகின்ற ஒரு நாளை ஓர்யாண்டின் முடிவாகவும், மற்றொரு நாளை அடுத்த ஆண்டின் தொடக்கமாகவும் கொண்டு ஒவ்வொரு வர்க்கும் கழிகின்ற ஆண்டுக் கணக்கே அவர்க்கு `விரைவில்` நரை வரும்` என்பதை அறிவிக்கும். அவையெல்லாம் இருந்தும் மக்கள், `தம் அறிவும் ஆற்றலும் இன்றுள்ளவாறே என்றும் இருக்கும்` என்று மகிழ்ந்திருக் கின்றனர். இன்னதோர் அறியாமை இருந்தவாறு இரங்கத் தக்கது!

kūṟum karumayir veṇmayi rāvatum

īṟum piṟappumo rāṇṭeṉum nīrē.

Yet torn to shreds it is--of this men think not much;
The shining dark tresses to full grey turn,
Even so birth and death are one--not two.

191: சென்றுணர் வான்திசை பத்துந் திவாகரன்
அன்றுணர் வால்அளக் கின்ற தறிகிலர்
நின்றுண ரார்இந் நிலத்தின் மனிதர்கள்
பொன்றுணர் வாரிற் புணர்க்கின்ற மாயமே.

பகலவன் பத்துத் திசைகளையும், ஓடி உழன்று தனது ஒளியினால் காண்கின்றான். ஆனால், சிவபெருமான், அப் பகலவன் உண்டாதற்கு முன்னிருந்தே அனைத்தையும் தனது முற்றுணர்வால் கண்டு நிற்கின்றான். அதனையும், அவன் அனைத்துலகத்தும் உள்ள நிலையாத உணர்வை உடைய உயிர்களிடத்துக் கூட்டுவிக்கின்ற மாயப்பொருள்களின் தன்மையையும் இந்நிலவுலகத்தில் உள்ள மக்கள் ஆராய்ந்துணர்கின்றார்களில்லை.

But men measuring with their little sense know this not;
They ponder not nor on the deep mystery muse,
These men on earth--their minds in low passions caught.
