அவ்வியம் பேசி அறங்கெட நில்லன்மின்

வெவ்விய னாகிப் பிறர்பொருள் வவ்வன்மின்

செவ்விய னாகிச் சிறந்துண்ணும் போதொரு

தவ்விகொ டுமின் தலைப்பட்ட போதே.

வாய்ப்பு நேரும்பொழுது அது கிடைத்துவிட்ட தென்று புறங்கூறிப் பாவத்தைத் தேடிக்கொள்ளாதீர்கள். தீக்குணம் உடையாராய்ப் பிறர் பொருளைக் கள்ளாதீர்கள். நற்பண்பு உடையாராய் உயர்ந்து, உண்ணும்போது சிறிதாயினும் பிறருக்குக் கொடுத்து உண்ணுங்கள்.

Meaning-[Share With Others Before You Eat]

Speak not in envy, stray not from the Dharmic way,
Covet not other's riches with lustful greedy glances;
With heart to pity attuned, as you sit down to eat,
Share with others before the feast commences.

ஆம்விதி நாடின் அறஞ்செய்மின் அந்நிலம்
போம்விதி நாடின் புனிதனைப் போற்றுமின்
ஆம்விதி வேண்டும தென்சொலின் மானிடர்
ஆம்விதி பெற்ற அருமைவல் லார்க்கே.

பொழிப்புரை

மக்களாய்ப் பிறக்கின்ற ஊழைப் பெற்ற அருமை அறியவல்லார்க்கு மேலும் உயர்வடைகின்ற நெறி இன்றியமை யாதது. அஃது என்ன என்பதைச் சொல்லுமிடத்து, இவ்வுலகில் மீளவும் பிறந்து உயர்ந்து நிற்கின்ற நெறியை விரும்புவீராயின், பசுபுண்ணியத்தைச் செய்யுங்கள். அவ்வாறின்றிச் சிவலோகத்திற் சென்று சிவானந்தத்தை அடைகின்ற நெறியை விரும்புவீராயின், சிவபெருமானை வழிபடுத லாகிய சிவபுண்ணியத்தைச் செய்யுங்கள்.

āmviti vēṇṭuma teṉcoliṉ māṉiṭar
āmviti peṟṟa arumaival lārkkē.

Meaning-[Pray and Perform Noble Deeds-This is the Law of Life
Eternal]

Perform thou noble deeds, good Karma to shape,
Praise thou the Holy One, the Holy Land to reach;
This is the law we need, this the law for men
ho, blessed with earthly life, seek the Life eternal.

இன்புறு வண்டிங் கினமலர் மேற்போய்

உண்பது வாச மதுபோல் உயிர்நிலை

இன்புற நாடி யிளைக்கிலு மூன்றொளி

கண்புறம் நின்ற கருத்துள்நில் லானே. 

பொழிப்புரை
-------------
தேனை விரும்புகின்ற வண்டு அதனை உண்பது மலரிடத்தே சென்று அதன்கண் வீழ்ந்தேயாம். உயிரினுடைய நிலைமையும் அத்தன்மையதே. அஃதாவது, இன்பத்தை விரும்புகின்ற உயிர் அதனைப் பெறுவது சிவனை அடைந்து அவனிடத்து அடங்கி நிற்கும் பொழுதேயாம். வண்டு தேனை உண்ண விரும்பிப் பிற இடங்களில் ஓடியிளைப்பினும் அது கிடையாததுபோல, உயிரும் இன்பம் பெற விரும்பிப் புறக்கண்வழி ஓடி இளைப்பினும் அங்ஙனம் ஓடுகின்ற உயிரில், அன்பின்ஊன்ற உள்ளெழும் சோதியாகிய (தி.12 பெ. பு. திருஞான - 835) சிவன் விளங்கமாட்டான். `எனவே, இன்பம் கிட்டாது` என்பதாம்.

iṉpuṟu vaṇṭiṅ kiṉamalar mēṟpōy

uṇpatu vāca matupōl uyirnilai

iṉpuṟa nāṭi yiḷaikkilu mūṉṟoḷi

kaṇpuṟam niṉṟa karuttuḷnil lāṉē. 

Meaning-[Lord is the Light Beyond Visible Reach]

The bee, that nectar seeks, flies high for its flower on top
And there, alone, it sucks the fragrant juice;
Even so, they who seek the blessed grace divine,
Aspire for the Light beyond visible reach of eyes.
